React development services for products, not brochures
React development services design and build web applications with React, a JavaScript library for interfaces that update instantly as people interact with them. It’s the right tool for dashboards, portals, marketplaces, booking flows, and SaaS products where users log in, filter data, fill in complex forms, or see information change in real time. It’s for businesses building a product, or a significant tool inside one, rather than a mostly static marketing site.
React is powerful, but it adds complexity. Part of our job is telling you when you don’t need it.
Is React the right fit for your project?
React earns its place when the interface is doing real work. These are the situations where we typically recommend it:
- Your team or customers spend long sessions in a tool, such as an admin panel, client portal, or internal dashboard, and every page reload slows them down.
- You’re building a marketplace or ordering flow with carts, filters, multi-step forms, and live pricing.
- A prototype or MVP was built quickly and now resists every new feature.
- You need to connect a front end to an existing API, third-party services, or a system like an EHR.
- You want a codebase that future hires can work in without learning an unusual stack.
If your site is mostly pages of content, WordPress or Astro will usually be faster to build, easier to edit, and quicker to load. If search visibility and server rendering matter as much as interactivity, we often build on Next.js, which is React with a framework around it.
How we build React applications
React gives you freedom to structure an app however you like, which is exactly why many React codebases become hard to change. We make the key architecture decisions deliberately and write them down.
Plain React, Next.js, or something else
A single-page app built with React and Vite suits tools that live behind a login, where search engines never see the content and fast in-app navigation matters most. Next.js suits products where public pages need to rank and load quickly for first-time visitors. For large teams that want strong built-in conventions, Angular is sometimes the better choice. We weigh your team, your users, and your roadmap before picking.
Separating server data from UI state
Much of the complexity in React apps comes from treating data fetched from an API the same way as local interface state. We keep them apart. Server data is handled with a data-fetching library such as React Query, which takes care of caching, loading states, and refreshing. Interface state stays as close to the component that uses it as possible. A global store like Redux or Zustand is added only when state genuinely needs to be shared widely.
Components built as a system
We build shared components, such as buttons, form fields, tables, modals, and layout primitives, from your design system before building screens. Each one handles keyboard use, focus, and labeling so the app meets WCAG 2.2 AA without repeated fixes. New features then assemble from tested parts, which keeps the interface consistent and development predictable.
TypeScript and tests where they count
We write React in TypeScript, so mismatches between the front end and your API are caught while coding, not by users. Critical flows, such as sign-up, checkout, and anything involving money or patient data, get automated tests by default. Broader coverage is scoped to your needs.
What a React engagement looks like
Every project follows our five stages: Discover, Plan, Design & build, Test & launch, and Support. On a React app, discovery focuses on who uses the product, what they need to do, and what data it depends on. Planning turns that into user flows, an API contract, and a component and state plan. If we’re taking over an existing codebase, we start with a code review and share findings before changing anything.
We build in short cycles with working software you can click through, and you talk to the developers writing the code. Before launch we test across devices and browsers, check performance and accessibility, and review security basics like authentication and how sensitive data is handled.
When the project is handed over, you receive:
- The complete source code in your repository, with a readme covering setup, environment variables, and deployment.
- A short architecture note explaining folder structure, state decisions, and how to add a new feature.
- Automated tests and a build pipeline you can run without us.
- Deployment and monitoring set up under your accounts.
The code uses mainstream libraries and conventions, so your own developers or another team can continue the work. You’re never locked in, and we’re available to keep building if you want us to.

Questions about this service
Is React right for our project, or would a simpler site work?
If your site is mostly content, a lighter option like WordPress or Astro is usually a better fit; React earns its complexity when there's real interactivity or app-like behavior. We'll tell you honestly which one fits.
Do you use Next.js instead of plain React?
Often, yes — when SEO or server-side rendering matters, we build on Next.js. We'll recommend based on your needs (see our Next.js Development service).
Can you take over an existing React codebase?
Yes — we start with a code review before making changes or adding features.
Do you write tests?
Yes, to the level appropriate for your app — critical flows are tested by default, and we'll scope broader coverage if needed.
Can this connect to our existing back end?
Yes — we integrate with whatever API or back end you already have, or build one alongside it.
