Vue.js development services for fast, maintainable interfaces
Our Vue.js development services cover building, extending, and maintaining interactive web interfaces with the Vue framework, from a single booking widget on an existing page to a full single-page application. They’re for businesses that need real interactivity, such as filtering, calculators, dashboards, or multi-step forms, and want code that a small team can understand and keep running.
Vue sits in a useful middle ground. It’s capable enough for complex applications, but it doesn’t ask you to adopt a large ecosystem or a heavy build setup just to make one part of your site interactive.
Signs Vue is the right tool for your project
Most clients who come to us for Vue work fall into one of a few situations. If any of these sound familiar, it’s worth a conversation.
- Your marketing site works fine, but one feature, such as a quote builder, product configurator, or store locator, has outgrown jQuery or a page-builder plugin.
- You have an internal tool or customer portal that’s become slow and hard to change, and the original developer is no longer around.
- You’re still running a Vue 2 application, which reached end of life at the end of 2023, and you need a plan to move it to Vue 3 without breaking what customers use every day.
- Your in-house developers are stronger in HTML, CSS, and plain JavaScript than in a specific framework, and you want something they can realistically maintain after handoff.
How we approach a Vue build
We don’t start by assuming Vue is the answer. During Discover we look at who will maintain the code, what the interface needs to do, and whether search engines need to read it. Sometimes that points to Vue; sometimes React, Angular, or a plain WordPress build is a better fit, and we’ll say so.
Vue vs React: how we decide
Both frameworks can build almost anything. The practical differences are team fit and ecosystem. Vue’s single-file components and template syntax read like enhanced HTML, which tends to suit teams with a design or WordPress background. React has a larger ecosystem of third-party libraries and a bigger hiring pool, which can matter if you plan to grow a dedicated product team. We weigh those factors against your plans rather than our preferences.
Plain Vue, or Vue with Nuxt
A client-rendered Vue app is a good choice for logged-in tools, dashboards, and widgets where SEO doesn’t matter. When pages need to rank, we build on Nuxt so content is rendered on the server or generated ahead of time, and crawlers see real HTML instead of an empty container. Choosing this up front avoids an expensive rebuild later.
Decisions inside the codebase
We write new Vue code with the Composition API and TypeScript, which makes logic easier to share between components and catches mistakes before they reach the browser. We use Pinia for shared state only where state is genuinely shared; local component state stays local, so the app doesn’t end up with a global store nobody wants to touch. Vite keeps local builds fast, which matters when your own developers take over.
For progressive adoption, we mount Vue components onto specific elements of an existing page, load them only where they’re used, and keep them from interfering with the rest of the site’s scripts. That protects page speed and your Core Web Vitals on pages that don’t need the extra JavaScript.
Accessibility in interactive components
Interactive interfaces are where accessibility most often breaks: custom dropdowns that ignore the keyboard, modals that trap focus, or live results that screen readers never announce. We build components to WCAG 2.2 AA, with proper focus management, visible focus states, and ARIA only where native HTML can’t do the job.
What working with us on Vue looks like
Every engagement follows our five stages: Discover, Plan, Design & build, Test & launch, and Support. For an existing application, Discover includes a codebase review, so we know which parts are sound, which are fragile, and what a sensible order of work looks like before we change anything.
During the build you’ll talk directly to the developers writing the code, not a go-between. We share working previews as features come together, so you can react to real behavior rather than static mockups.
At the end, you get:
- The full source code in your own repository, with clear setup and build instructions.
- A short written overview of the component structure and where shared state lives, so a new developer can find their way around.
- A handoff walkthrough for your team or your next developer.
- No lock-in. The code follows standard Vue conventions, so any competent Vue developer can pick it up.
If you’d like us to stay involved, we can continue with updates, dependency upgrades, and new features after launch.

Vue work often sits alongside other parts of a project. If you’re comparing frameworks, see our React development services and Next.js development services. Most Vue interfaces need data from somewhere, which is where our back-end development services come in, and our wider front-end development services cover the rest of the interface. Questions about this service
Is Vue a good fit if we're not starting from scratch?
Yes — Vue is well suited to being added incrementally into an existing site, not just full rebuilds.
How does Vue compare to React?
Both are capable, well-supported frameworks; Vue tends to have a gentler learning curve, React has a larger ecosystem. We'll recommend based on your team and project needs.
Do you use Nuxt for server-side rendering?
When SEO or server rendering matters, yes — we can build on Nuxt rather than plain Vue.
Can you maintain an existing Vue application?
Yes — we start with a review of the existing codebase before making changes.
Is this good for an e-commerce front end?
Yes, particularly when paired with a headless commerce back end — we'll advise on the right pairing for your catalog.
