Shopify store development built around your catalog
Our Shopify store development service designs, builds, and migrates Shopify stores, from customizing an existing theme to fully custom Liquid themes and headless Hydrogen builds. It’s for retailers and product brands, mostly small and mid-sized, who want a store that presents their products well, checks out reliably, and doesn’t need constant firefighting.
Shopify runs the commerce engine: payments, inventory, orders, and hosting. Our job is everything customers see and touch, plus the setup decisions that decide how easy the store is to run a year from now.
When it’s time to bring in a Shopify developer
Store owners usually reach out when the store they set up themselves starts holding the business back. Common signs:
- Your theme can’t present your products properly, such as variants, bundles, size guides, or technical specs.
- You’ve installed app after app, and pages have become slow and hard to debug.
- Shoppers add to cart but drop off before paying, and you’re not sure where.
- You’re on WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or another platform and spending more time maintaining it than selling.
- Your brand has outgrown a store that looks like thousands of others.
The decisions that shape a Shopify build
Shopify or WooCommerce?
We build on both, so we don’t have a reason to push one. Shopify suits most online stores: hosting, security, and checkout are handled for you, and your team can focus on products and orders. WooCommerce makes more sense when the store is part of a content-heavy WordPress site, or needs unusual custom logic that Shopify’s structure makes awkward. We’ll give you a direct recommendation after discovery.
Customize a theme or build a custom one?
A well-chosen purchased theme, customized to your brand, saves budget and works well for many stores. A custom Liquid theme is worth it when your catalog needs layouts no theme offers, or when you want full control over performance and markup. We’ll show you where the line falls for your products instead of defaulting to the more expensive option.
Do you need headless Shopify?
Headless builds with Hydrogen give maximum design and performance control, but they add complexity and ongoing development cost. For most stores, a well-built Liquid theme is the better choice. We recommend headless only when there’s a clear reason, like a highly custom shopping experience or content and commerce that need to live in one custom front end.
A smaller, deliberate app stack
Every app can add scripts, admin clutter, and a monthly bill. Before installing one, we check whether Shopify handles it natively or whether a small theme change would do the job. The apps that stay are the ones that earn their place.
Product pages that answer buyers’ questions
Most abandoned carts start with doubt: about fit, delivery time, returns, or total cost. We design product pages so those answers are visible before someone reaches checkout, using Shopify’s metafields to keep details like specs or care instructions structured and editable. Clear, structured product data also helps search engines understand what you sell.
How a Shopify project runs, and what you keep
We follow our five-stage process: Discover, Plan, Design & build, Test & launch, and Support. Discover covers your catalog, how you fulfill orders, and which tools (email, reviews, subscriptions, accounting) the store must connect to. Plan sets the collection structure, navigation, and URL plan, which matters for both shoppers and search.
Testing focuses on the purchase path: product pages, cart, discounts, shipping rules, taxes, and payment on real phones and browsers. We build to Core Web Vitals and WCAG 2.2 AA, so the store stays fast and usable for shoppers relying on a keyboard or screen reader. For migrations, we map old product and collection URLs to their new Shopify equivalents with redirects so search rankings carry over.
When the store goes live, you have:
- A store on your own Shopify account, with you as the owner.
- Theme code that’s clean and readable, so any competent Shopify developer can pick it up later.
- A short list of installed apps with what each one does and why it’s there.
- A walkthrough for your team on adding products, running promotions, and editing theme sections.
You work directly with the developers building the store throughout, and there’s no lock-in once it’s done.
