About the client
Driven is a video platform for motivational content. Its promise, “Motivation on demand: freedom to support the creators you love”, puts creators and their channels at the center, with fans following channels, watching episodes and joining groups.
The brief
Driven needed two things from one website: a marketing landing page that explains the idea to new visitors and gets them to sign up, and the logged-in screens where creators set up channels and fans find content. Both had to feel like the same product, and the path from landing page to registration to creating a channel had to be short.
How we built it: design, HTML, then WordPress
Like every custom WordPress project at 99WebSol, this one moved through three stages, each signed off before the next began. Separating them means design decisions are settled before any code is written, and the front end is tested in the browser before it is tied to a CMS.
1. UI design
We started by designing the interface: the marketing landing page, login and registration, channel creation, and the app navigation for channels, episodes, groups and the user dashboard. Designing the landing page and the app together gave both a shared visual language, so moving from one to the other feels continuous.
2. HTML, CSS and JavaScript conversion
The approved screens were converted into responsive HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with the navigation, forms and channel screens built as reusable components. Building the front end on its own first let us test the sign-up and channel-creation flows in real browsers and on phones before connecting them to WordPress.
3. Custom WordPress theme
The front end was then turned into a custom WordPress theme, so the client manages pages and content from the WordPress dashboard. Because the theme is built from the approved HTML, the live site matches the design screen for screen.
